What is an Attenuation drainage system? An Attenuation system is the temporary storage of surface water in a suitable chamber below ground level. The chamber must be large enough to accommodate the calculated run-off during peak rainfall periods. 

Permeable geo textile membranes in Soakaway systems then ensure the water is gradually released in a controlled manner back into the ground, effectively reducing the risk of flooding. 

Attenuation crate systems offer a cost-effective solution for storm water management. Managing large volumes of surface water and releasing it at a controlled rate back into the drainage system.

Great SuDS designs can be let down by poor construction, and whilst constructing SuDS does require different skills than those usually used for traditional drainage approaches, they are no more difficult to construct.
