TOTAL Underpinning Contractors
Total underpinning contractors overview
Flexible underpinning solutions also enable Total to solve more complicated foundation problems.
If ground conditions at your project location are extremely poor such that traditional underpinning is not possible, we have the underpinning expertise and technique to meet this challenge.
Our expert piling teams can use piling as an alternative remedy and can combine piles and needle beams to support defective foundations and walls, therefore solving the problem!
For key underpinning challenges, underpinning specialist Total Group have the knowledge and equipment to provide solutions.
Underpinning Shaft Construction
In good conditions where the ground has a stand-up time and ground water is minimal, or can be controlled by sump pumping Total use the Underpinning technique
Using this technique, the shaft is constructed by removal of the ground using excavators and cranes followed by the installation of precast concrete segments directly in their final place, which hang from the previously constructed ring.
This method is often on stiff or harder ground where a traditional caisson would not be possible. It also has advantages over the caisson technique due to the short establishment time, less equipment and therefore costs, and control over the shaft position and orientation
