TOTAL Deep drainage contractors

In construction operations, planning is crucial for the successful implementation of infrastructure. We set out from the plans all the roads, street gutters, drainage, culverts, and sewers involved in construction operations.

During the deep drainage construction process, setting out the necessary levels for each of these elements is essential to ensure proper water management.

Collaborative Efforts and Regulations

We work alongside construction managers, architects, supervisors, and sub-contractors to achieve optimal drainage solutions.

Typically, most authorities have some form of drainage law governing the extent to which a landowner can alter the drainage from their parcel. These regulations ensure that drainage modifications do not negatively impact neighboring properties or public infrastructure.

Types of Drainage Systems

There are two primary types of drainage options for construction: point drainage and channel drainage. Point drainage intercepts water at specific points, such as gullies, which connect to underground drainage pipes. This method requires deep excavation and support for the trenches in the form of planking, strutting, or shoring.

On the other hand, channel drainage intercepts water along the entire run of the channel. Channels are typically made from materials like concrete, steel, polymer, or composites.

The interception rate of channel drainage is greater than point drainage, and the required excavations are usually less deep.

The surface opening of channel drainage can come in the form of gratings (made from polymer, plastic, steel, or iron) or a single slot (slot drain) that runs along the ground surface, typically made from steel or iron.
